Cash game night

had a little cash game night today
since ive been capable of consitantly making money on the mirco limits
and it all went pretty well

won about 2 buyins
and i was just about to go to bed when i saw some friends from the Pokernews forum playing in a cashgame and i decided to join them

all went pretty well and was up a little bit as i started with less then max buy in

then this hand comes up

im in BB with 48s (as you know im trying out for aggressive so i dont mind playing this hand)

folded to the SB who has me covered raises 3x BB i call

flop comes 4J8 r

villian bets 0,08 i raise to 0,24 he reraises to 0,98 i think about it little while figuring JJ is just bad luck and decide to go for it and push all in for the rest of my $4 wich he calls
he shows Suited JK im like YES!!!

turn 2h

river 2d

and im just shocked lol
good thing im only shocked for a few seconds and find myself able to laugh about it

wich is good and i can now say im comfterble playing cashgames and loosing to a suck out

so end of the night little bit up
time for bed

Learning new things

This last week ive been learning alott of new things by reading alott of stuff there is on the internet
all the strategy posts i can find on p5s 2+2 pokernews reading blogs from online ranked players
LAGs and TAGs
just eagerly trying to get my game up
as i where doing this i stumbeled on to some hand histories from BeLoWaBoVe, you know the super aggressive dude with the amazing memory ;)
i really enjoyed reading those and it was amazing how he memorized every detail
and his logic into making moves and playing the table is just incredible
after reading these i suggested myself id try this aggressive style again (ive tried it be4)

Like every other time ive tried this aggressive style i was really enjoying myself
people folding my bluffs when i knew they where weak
calling me down when i got the nuts even putting me all in be4 i could even make a bet lol

"why dont you keep playing this style ?"
well the problem is that my stack swings are enormous because im not capable of reading every hand correctly or making the right move at some parts just yet

Anyway back to the trying part
i signed up for a $2,20 6 max MTT (seeing i like shorthanded and its easy for being aggressive IMO)
and man what a tourney that was
i laughed my ass off even when i lost because i knew i was making a move that is +EV and will work most times
there was about 800+ entrants and as we where down to 320 or something i was in the CHIPLEAD!!
and just at that point i loved it i was playing very nice poker and everything just fell right into place
then we came down to 150 or so (108 payed) and i started to get swings i figure this is where my leak was and i had to switch to tight aggressive here or at least somewhat tighter
as i went down to 73th out of 120 and back up to 4th back down to 20th back up to 5th and so on then finally the keyhand for me i think showed up with about 30 players remaining

villian just moved in here about 4 orbits ago

My Stack: 48k
Villian : 53k

blinds 800/1600 75A

im in the BB with 36s spades villain is 2 to my left and raises to 3200
wich i call
flop comes 32K rainbow 1 spade

i check villian bets 6400 (overbetting the pot)
at that point i decided i had a set and raised 14400 to 20800
on wich villian pushes me all in
i still had 24k or so behind
and i really didnt knew what too make of it i figured he couldnt repop me when i got half my stack in without having something
i folded wich seemed weak because i had half my stack in
afterwords im thinking i should of raised bigger so he didnt have FE or i just should of folded on the flop and wait for a better spot but then again i was playing aggressive style and stood still am standing behind that decision to raise because i feel i can really make people fold the best hand there
later on i busted out at 24th loosing my JJ vs AQ i started railing the villian from the 36s a bit
and found out he called down and raised more hands with middle pair or a draw
wich concluded for me i just made the right move against the wrong type of player

this morning i woke up thinking about the tourney feeling content about my play and bit bummed out i didnt made that FT because i was just running good

oh well another lesson learned and got a new gear to play with now so hope to make some FT's soon
